Product Variants are just different versions of the same product, like offering a t-shirt in various colors or sizes.
Imagine you’re running an online store using ClickFunnels, eager to offer your best-selling item in various styles to attract a wider audience. For instance, you are selling T-shirts with options for both size and color. You might have small, medium, and large sizes available in blue and green. Each combination of size and color represents a specific variant, like a small blue T-shirt.
In this article, you’ll learn step-by-step instructions for adding, updating, and deleting product variants in ClickFunnels.
Requirements
An active ClickFunnels account
Accessing Variants In the Product Settings
Navigate to Products section in the side navigation menu.
Select All Products.
On the right-hand side, locate your desired product. You can either click on the product itself, its image, or the settings ⚙ icon to access product settings.
Scroll down to the Variants section.
Adding Variants to a Product
You can add options and option values to generate new product variants.
Within the “Variants” section, check the box This product has multiple options, like different sizes or colors to enable variant options.
In the Option field, select an existing option or click Add new option to create a new option, such as
Size
.In the Values fields, enter each option value, such as
Small
,Medium
, orLarge
. Remember, you can add a maximum of seven values for each option.IMPORTANT
Each product can have up to three options.
A maximum of seven values can be added to each option.
With three options, each offering seven values, you can create a total of 343 unique combinations.
To include more options, such as
Color
orMaterial
, click + Add option. Note that you can add a maximum of three options for each product.Click Done, and then click Update Product.
Editing Existing Options and Values
Within the product settings, navigate to the Variants section.
Include a New Option:
To add a new option, click + Add option and enter the option name and values. Remember, you can have a maximum of three options for a product.
Edit Existing Options:
To edit an existing option and its values, click the Pencil ? Icon next to it.
In the Option field, select a new option or add a new one.
In the Values fields, you can rename the existing values, add new values, or delete values using the cross ✖ icon.
Click Done, and then click Update Product.
Editing Existing Variants
Within the product settings, navigate to the Variants section.
Include a New Variant:
To add a new variant, click Add Variant.
Enter a variant name.
Optionally, click Use custom description to override the inherited product description.
Click the Create variant button to save changes.
Edit Existing Variant:
To edit an existing variant, click Edit variants button or directly on the variant itself.
Customize variant settings, including Variant Name, Custom Description, Images, Pricing, Tax Settings, Inventory & Shipping, and Purchase Actions.
Click Update Product to apply changes.
Deleting Variants to a Product
Within the product settings, navigate to the Variants section.
Deleting an option:
Click the pencil icon next to the option you want to delete.
Then, click the trash icon to confirm deletion.
Deleting Values:
Find the variant you want to delete.
Click the trash icon to delete the variant.
Alternatively, click on the variant itself, then click the Delete button at the bottom left corner to delete it.
Click Update Product to apply changes.
WARNING
Deleting Options and Values is permanent and cannot be undone once saved.
Previewing Product Variants in an Order Page
Create or Edit a Funnel:
Create a new funnel or edit an existing one.
Add an order page to the funnel.
Add Checkout Element:
Alternatively, if you’re working on an existing page, insert a Checkout element in the page editor.
Add Product with Variants:
In the funnel, add a Product to the order page that includes variants.
Preview the Page:
Click Preview or access the page link to view the page.
The variant selector will automatically populate, allowing users to select their preferred options.
